Dr. Joubin Gabbay, M.D. is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in the art of aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Gabbay is the Medical Director of Gabbay Plastic Surgery. Dr. Joubin Gabbay was raised in Beverly Hills and is deeply rooted in the local community. Dr. Gabbay graduated with honors from the University of California San Diego, where he sought a well-rounded education in both cutting-edge molecular biology and practical and theoretical arts. It was early in his undergraduate education that he developed the philosophy that continues to drive his approach to patient care today: the best approach to any question is a comprehensive one. Not satisfied with a classroom-based education alone, he independently sought to perform research in cell signaling at the prestigious Salk Institute in La Jolla, CA and in surgical outcomes at The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Gabbay received his medical education at The Medical College of Virginia located in Richmond, VA. While there, he continued his pursuit of a comprehensive medical education by augmenting his medical curriculum with independent research performed with his medical school faculty as well as continuing his research at Cedar-Sinai. He was honored to share his research at national meetings and published his findings in internationally prominent medical journals.

After Medical School, Dr. Gabbay returned to Los Angeles for training in both general and plastic surgery. While receiving training in general surgery at The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he took a sabbatical to perform plastic surgery research as the Bernard J. Sarnat Research Fellow at UCLA’s Division of Plastic Surgery. His study of fat-derived stem cells in plastic surgery resulted in over thirty published articles and presentations at numerous prominent national and international events.

Dr. Gabbay was then selected to receive training at UCLA’s preeminent plastic surgery residency program, where he worked with many national leaders in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He completed a post-graduate fellowship-training program in Specialty Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA. This intensive program furthered his comprehensive mastery of plastic surgical techniques by focusing on patients with spinal cord injuries and complex wounds requiring surgical reconstruction.
