What Is Aveli Cellulite Treatment?

Contrary to what many believe, it occurs due to hormones and genetics more than anything to do with lifestyle choices. Aveli is a non-surgical treatment that allows patients to target cellulite, resulting in significant reductions with only a single treatment. It treats cellulite at the source, using a precise method of mechanical subcision to cut the fibrous bands that cause the dimpling effect of cellulite.

However, it is best for patients who need to only treat the dimpling, as it does not address skin laxity or pockets of fat. What Is the Treatment Like?

First, Dr. Gabbay will apply local anesthetic to the treatment area to prevent any pain or discomfort for the entire session. He then uses the Aveli device to methodically target any points of cellulite that you would like to address. The treatment has a three-part approach, which is repeated for each area of cellulite to be treated. This involves:

Identify: The device first finds one of the fibrous bands causing cellulite beneath the skin.
Release: It then breaks through the band, releasing the tension that causes the dimpling.
Verify: We then use the same device to verify the bands were fully cut so there is no residual dimpling.

Once the entire area is treated, the treatment is complete and you can return home the same day. From start to finish, the treatment lasts about 1 hour, taking minimal time out of your daily routine.

Is There a Recovery Period?

While there is no required downtime, the recovery from the treatment is quite temperate. Some tenderness around the treatment areas is normal, but it typically is mild and resolves within a few days. We do recommend that patients avoid strenuous exercise for about a week to avoid irritating the tissues around the treatment area. Additionally, wearing a compression garment for about a week will also be beneficial. Patients more prone to swelling or bruising may see mild amounts of both for up to a month. However, the side effects rarely interfere with your daily routine, so you should have no interruptions to your work and personal life.

When Will I See Results from Cellulite Treatment?

Patients can expect almost immediate results from the procedure since it instantly removes the fibrous bands that cause dimpling. However, since there can be some residual swelling, patients can expect to fully enjoy their results once this wears off. In most cases, final results are most apparent about one month after the treatment. Additionally, the results should be permanent for most patients, as the broken cellulite bands are completely separated.
